ReplyDeleteThe most learned, traditional Southern Williams family had recently caught up with Brenda at Church. Brenda was a longstanding bestie from the 'hood & the suburb & Mrs Williams & her two daughters had always attended Church coffee mornings with Brenda & other good ladies of the "cloth".
"Why, did you know that our German au pair, Belinda Kruger, is arriving soon Brenda, pray, how should we keep on the correct, righteous path ?"
"Well, Doh!" said Brenda with a purposeful, all-knowing smile;
"Why, I do so strongly recommend the same way that you keep your two young daughters on the path! That's a given. And for sure, the same way my own girls are kept on the path: a well-smacked bottom, knickers down, in front of God. Why, I can sure lend you my trusty cane, if you like ? "
"Why, yes, thank you kindly, dear Brenda. Nice one. I do think that might be a sound, swell idea, already, in due course. So where exactly did you purchase that effective lil' rattan cane, the "hornets nest", again ? Not that my two girls or Miss Kruger will thank you for telling me so. Oh my! But it's gonna have to happen, dear Brenda, sadly!"
