Gertie drove slowly, looking around again and again and taking her eyes off the road. She didn't really understand where the fox terrier suddenly jumped out from. The dog began barking desperately at her motorcycle, throwing itself under the wheels. Gertie slammed on her brakes. The dog jumped around, continuing to bark.
"You, stupid animal! Go away!" Gertie screamed at it. "Go! Go! Get the fuck off!" she tried to kick the fox terrier, but it jumped back, continue barking.
"Gertrude! What do you think you are doing?!" Gertie suddenly heard a familiar voice. She slowly turned around, changing her countenance. A very angry Miss Dobbins appeared from behind the trees. "Gertrude, what is this?" she gave the girl a very displeased look.
"What do you mean?" Gertie snapped, "Miss Dobbins, this is not a classroom, and I'm not at your lecture! It's my business how and where I'm spending my day off!" she wanted to get on the motorcycle, but the teacher's hand suddenly squeezed her ear tightly. Gertie moaned in pain.
"Not only did you almost knock down Toto, but you also dared to offend him." Miss Dobbins said sternly. "Not to mention that you drove your jalopy into the park, ignoring the forbiddance. Gertrude, for such behavior, even outside of study hours, you could get into very serious trouble at college."
Gertie wanted to grab Miss Dobbin's hand, but she didn't dare. Fear flashed in her blue eyes. Even while she wanted to be seen as a reckless biker chick who could handle any trouble and who could handle anything, she was not at all keen on getting into trouble with the college administration.
"I think I need to teach you a good lesson right here and now, Gertrude." said Miss Dobbins sternly, and led Gertie by the ear to a dry log nearby.
